Main activities
Library multicultural should:
Develop collections and culturally diverse and multilingual services, including digital and multimedia resources;
Allocate resources to the conservation of cultural expressions and heritage, paying particular attention to the oral cultural heritage, indigenous and intangible;
include programs that support the education of users, information literacy, resources for newcomers, cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue as integral parts of services
Provide access to resources librarians in appropriate languages \u200b\u200bthrough access systems and organization of information;
Develop and disseminate promotional materials in appropriate languages \u200b\u200bto attract different groups to the library.
The international community should recognize and support the library and information services in its role promoters and curators of cultural and linguistic diversity.

This Manifesto complements the Manifesto of the IFLA / UNESCO Public Library at School Library Manifesto (IFLA / UNESCO) and the Internet Manifesto IFLA.
IFLA's Executive Committee approved the Manifesto in August 2006 and the Intergovernmental Council Information for All Programme (IFAP) of UNESCO was approved in April 2008 with the recommendation that it be submitted for consideration at the 35th session of the General Conference of UNESCO.
